IVF Partner Screening (Men)
Infectious-disease screening plus male reproductive hormones for the IVF partner.
Dopamine is a key neurotransmitter influencing motivation, focus, and drive. This urine test measures overall dopamine production, supporting a comprehensive assessment of men's neurological and adrenal health.

No established reference range
No general reference interval can be given for urinary dopamine. Dutch laboratories do not report it as a stand-alone value but per unit of creatinine, and their reference values differ widely: the UMCG uses 60–200 for adults, the Radboudumc 15–225 (men) and 15–275 (women) — a fourfold difference in the lower limit, on top of a strong dependence on age. The NVKC therefore advises always using the reference values of the laboratory that performed the test. For detecting a phaeochromocytoma, Dutch guidelines now recommend metanephrines rather than catecholamines.
Reference ranges may vary between laboratories. When you order a test, a BIG-registered doctor assesses your personal results in context. For treatment decisions, discuss your results with your GP.
This test measures the total amount of dopamine excreted in urine over a 24-hour collection period. It reflects systemic dopamine production from the adrenal glands, kidneys, and nervous system.
Dopamine imbalances may affect motivation, energy, and cognitive sharpness in men. Monitoring helps identify potential neurotransmitter or adrenal dysfunction. Consult your healthcare provider.
Testing may be recommended when investigating symptoms such as unexplained hypertension, excessive sweating, rapid heart rate, or as part of a catecholamine screening panel.
Regular exercise, adequate protein intake, sufficient sleep, and stress reduction may support healthy dopamine balance. Certain foods rich in tyrosine, such as eggs, fish, and nuts, provide dopamine precursors. Consult your healthcare provider before making changes.
These panels measure values from the same category as this marker.
