Biomarkers Included
5 biomarkersA focused health panel combining a complete blood count, lipid profile, and Vitamin D. This panel covers some commonly requested markers and can serve as a straightforward starting point for tracking your health.
Why this test?
Blood count, cholesterol, and Vitamin D are among the most frequently measured health parameters. This panel bundles them into a single blood draw, offering a practical overview of haematological status, cardiovascular-related lipid values, and a nutritional marker that many men may be low in, especially during winter months.
Who is this test for?
- Men who want a basic health check without an extensive panel
- Those who have not had blood work done in a while and want a starting point
- Men who spend limited time outdoors or live in northern climates and want to check their Vitamin D status
- Those interested in tracking lipid values alongside general blood health
What is tested?
- Complete Blood Count (CBC): red blood cells, white blood cells, haemoglobin, haematocrit, and platelets. Provides an overview of blood cell production and oxygen-carrying capacity.
- HDL Cholesterol (mmol/l): often referred to as "good" cholesterol; associated with cardiovascular health.
- LDL Cholesterol (mmol/l): often referred to as "bad" cholesterol; elevated levels may be associated with increased cardiovascular risk.
- Triglycerides (mmol/l): a type of fat in the blood; levels can be influenced by diet, activity, and metabolic factors.
- Vitamin D 25-OH (nmol/l): the primary circulating form of Vitamin D, involved in bone health, immune function, and other processes.
What can this test tell you?
The blood count may reveal information about anaemia, infection markers, or platelet levels. Lipid values can offer context for cardiovascular risk assessment when reviewed alongside lifestyle factors. Vitamin D status may be relevant for bone health, immune function, and general wellbeing. Together, these markers provide a practical baseline that can inform future health decisions.
How is the sample collected?
A blood sample is drawn at a certified sample point (afnamepunt). There are over 750 locations across the Netherlands. After placing your order, you can select a location and time that works for you. The appointment typically takes around 10 to 15 minutes.
When is this test useful?
This panel may be useful as a routine health check, as a first step into blood testing, or when you want to monitor a few core parameters without committing to a larger panel. It can also be relevant for men who want to track Vitamin D levels seasonally.
What do the results mean?
Results are presented with reference ranges for each marker. Values outside these ranges may be worth discussing with a healthcare provider, who can interpret them in the context of your lifestyle, diet, and medical history. A single out-of-range value does not necessarily indicate a problem.
Preparation
Fasting for 8 to 12 hours is required for accurate lipid results. Water is permitted during the fasting period.
What happens after the results?
Your results are typically available within a few business days in your personal dashboard. The report includes measured values alongside reference ranges. If you have questions about any values, consider reviewing them with a healthcare provider.

What We Test
This panel includes 5 biomarkers, each tested at a certified laboratory using medical-grade equipment.
Triglycerides are the most common type of fat in the body, used for energy storage. Elevated levels may be associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, especially when combined with other lipid abnormalities.
Learn moreLDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is often called "bad" cholesterol because elevated levels can lead to plaque build-up in artery walls, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Learn moreVitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a key role in calcium absorption, bone health, and immune function. It is primarily produced in the skin through sunlight exposure and can also be obtained from certain foods and supplements.
Learn moreHDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is often called "good" cholesterol because it helps transport excess cholesterol from the arteries back to the liver for removal. Higher HDL levels are generally associated with lower cardiovascular risk.
Learn moreA complete blood count (CBC) is a comprehensive blood test that evaluates the major components of your blood: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It is one of the most commonly ordered blood tests and provides a broad overview of your overall health.
Learn moreTriglycerides
CardiovascularTriglycerides are the most common type of fat in the body, used for energy storage. Elevated levels may be associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, especially when combined with other lipid abnormalities.
Elevated triglycerides may contribute to atherosclerosis and are a component of metabolic syndrome. They are often elevated alongside insulin resistance. Consult your healthcare provider.
LDL Cholesterol
CardiovascularLDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is often called "bad" cholesterol because elevated levels can lead to plaque build-up in artery walls, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
LDL cholesterol is a primary driver of atherosclerosis. Lowering elevated LDL is one of the most effective strategies for reducing cardiovascular disease risk. Consult your healthcare provider for personalised targets.
Vitamin D (25-OH)
VitaminsVitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a key role in calcium absorption, bone health, and immune function. It is primarily produced in the skin through sunlight exposure and can also be obtained from certain foods and supplements.
Adequate vitamin D levels are essential for strong bones, a well-functioning immune system, and overall well-being. Low levels may be associated with an increased risk of bone disorders, mood changes, and weakened immunity. Consult your healthcare provider for personalised advice.
HDL Cholesterol
CardiovascularHDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is often called "good" cholesterol because it helps transport excess cholesterol from the arteries back to the liver for removal. Higher HDL levels are generally associated with lower cardiovascular risk.
HDL cholesterol is a key component of cardiovascular risk assessment. Low HDL may be associated with increased heart disease risk, while healthy levels support arterial protection. Consult your healthcare provider for personalised guidance.
Complete Blood Count (CBC)
HematologyA complete blood count (CBC) is a comprehensive blood test that evaluates the major components of your blood: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It is one of the most commonly ordered blood tests and provides a broad overview of your overall health.
The CBC is a cornerstone of preventive healthcare and diagnostic medicine. It can help detect a wide range of conditions including anemia, infections, immune disorders, blood cancers, and clotting problems. Regular CBC testing supports early detection and ongoing health monitoring.
